Dr. Samantha Busch Winokur is both a licensed clinical psychologist and a certified school psychologist who works with children, adolescents, and adults. She has private practice on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. She specializes in treating individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship issues, medical concerns, and life transitions. Dr. Winokur is also a psychologist at Convent of the Sacred Heart.
Dr. Winokur graduated cum laude from Tulane University. She completed her doctorate in clinical psychology and certification in school psychology at the Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology at Widener University in Pennsylvania. In addition to her general training in clinical and school psychology, she further completed a concentration in health psychology. After earning her doctorate, she completed a postdoctoral fellowship at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center, Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons, where she developed an expertise in treating children, adolescents, and young adults at the Child and Family Institute as well as treating children ages 0-5 and their parents at the Parent-Infant Center. Dr. Winokur has over ten years of experience in the field and has worked at various hospitals, college counseling centers, and schools. She has published numerous articles and presented her research at the American Psychological Association, American Psychiatric Assoication, and the College on Problems of Drug Dependence. She is a member of the American Psychological Association, Division 39 Psychoanalysis, Women's Mental Health Consortium, and Association of Psychoeducational Consultants in Independent Schools.
